Classical Memory by Mohammad Safuan |
Yesterday afternoon, while walking around Publika with Daryll, I came across this painting hanging in Galeri Rumah Terang. It's a bitumen on canvas painting of an old school gramophone done by an art student. While looking around the gallery, I came across a watercolour piece by Taib Aur, depicting a plate of 'spaghetti reel' and some popper lures. I was quite torn between the two pieces, but after considering the mediums and prices, I decided to give Safuan a shot.
Seeing how Safuan's still an unestablished artist, this investment would be quite a gamble. So far, his artwork is quite clean and crisp, which I really like. Hopefully I'll be seeing more of his artwork in the market soon.
For now, I think I'll get the painting framed back home so that once I get my place, I can hang it up. My first ever collection piece, and God willing, not the last.
