'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus

’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
And to know, “Thus saith the Lord!”

Refrain:
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er;
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!

Oh, how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood!

Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.

I’m so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.

If I ever had a favourite song, it would be this. The way it reminds me of that assurance I have in my LORD and Saviour, and of the promise He made to all His children, nothing else has achieved. So simple, so child-like. Read Matthew 18:2-4.

Beyond the Sea...

Somewhere, beyond the sea,
Somewhere, waiting for me,
My lover stands on golden sands
And watches the ships that go sailing;

Somewhere beyond the sea,
She's  there watching for me.
If I could fly like birds on high,
Then straight to her arms I'd go sailing.

It's far beyond a star,
It's near beyond the moon,
I know beyond a doubt
My heart will lead me there soon.

We'll meet beyond the shore,
We'll kiss just as before.
Happy we'll be beyond the sea,
And never again I'll go sailing!

ha... as if there'd be anybody waiting for me. Still, no harm being perasan. Besides, it'd be a waste of a good song, too.

lol.

What did the Black Eyed Peas say to the Char Kuey Teow auntie?

"Mai ham, mai ham, mai ham! (don't want cockles)" hehe. Get it?
lol.

A Bunch Of Thyme

This is a song I heard for the first time tonight at a concert performance. I was rather amused after listening to this song being sung with such a straight face and was the only one trying very hard not to laugh. I suppose you'll know why after you've seen the lyrics.

Come all ye maidens young and fair

And you that are blooming in your prime
Always beware and keep your garden fair
Let no man steal away your thyme

For thyme it is a precious thing
And thyme brings all things to my mind
Thyme with all its flavours, along with all its joys
Thyme, brings all things to my mind

Once, she had a bunch of thyme
She thought it never would decay
Then came a saucy sailor
Who chanced to pass her way
And stole her bunch of thyme away

For thyme it is a precious thing
And thyme brings all things to my mind
Thyme with all its flavours, along with all its joys
Thyme, brings all things to my mind

The sailor gave to her a rose
A rose that never would decay
He gave it to her to keep her reminded
Of when he stole her thyme away

For thyme it is a precious thing
And thyme brings all things to my mind
Thyme with all its flavours, along with all its joys
Thyme, brings all things to my mind

I don't suppose we're still talking about 'thyme', are we? Snigger. Naughty me. Still, a very entertaining, though albeit risqué song, in its own right. (^_^)

The lyrics may vary a little though.

Be Still My Soul

Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side;
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In ev'ry change He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heav'nly Friend

Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Sometimes when we spend too much time worrying about our future, or planning our next step, we forget. We forget a lot of things, and one of them is that God will provide in His own timing, and that He is on our side. So, be still, my soul. Let not all the those worrisome thoughts bother you. Chillax (^0^)

Quick! We have but a Second.

Quick! We have but a second,
Fill round the cup while you may:
For Time, the churl, hath beckon'd,
And we must away, away!

Grasp the pleasure that's flying,
For Oh!
Not Orpheus' strain could keep sweet hours from dying,
Or charm them to life again.

Then quick! We have but a second,
Fill round the cup while you may,
For Time, the churl, hath beckon'd,
And we must away, away!

See the glass how it flushes,
Like some young Hebe's lip,
And half meets thine, and blushes
That thou should delay to sip.

Shame, Oh Shame unto thee,
If e'er thou see that day
When a cup or lip shall woo thee,
and turn untouched away.

Then quick! We have but a second,
Fill round the cup while you may,
For Time, the churl, hath beckon'd,
And we must away, away!

This song is an Irish air, and is loaded with metaphors. This was penned by one Thomas Moore who lived during the 18th century. Can anyone see through the veil and find out what made the whole choir snicker? What a tastful way for risque entertainment they had back then; Very unlike the tasteless, vulgar songs which are forced upon us today. (^_^) Lol.

încredere în Domnul (Trust in the Lord)

Trust in the Lord and don't despair
He is a Friend so true.
No matter what your troubles are
Jesus will see you through
Sing when the day is bright
Sing throught the darkest night
Everyday, all the way
Let us sing!
