Ever since Project Aldir, I've gotten the mini itch. I've always been fascinated by martial arts even as a kid (must have something to me with me being Chinese), so I thought I'd like to play as a monk some time in the future.
Shown here is a figure recommended to me by Tarrant, from Hasslefree Miniatures. This is one of the most authentic looking oriental monks in the market I've seen so far - not as awesome as I'd like it to be, but close enough.
These porcelain figures are more of what I had in mind. These are poses from real kungfu styles, so their movements make sense, unlike the one from Hasslefree. No real person ever hits like that, man... But that isn't the worst I've seen. Unfortunately, these really awesome figures are porcelain and are big. Like really big. Too bad. I wouldn't mind some really kickass figurines.
I guess until a martial artist starts sculpting minis, or the sculptors do more research on martial arts, I won't be getting my kickass figurine any time soon. In lieu, I expect my Hasslefree mini to arrive sometime next week.
