Nick's fall...(>.<)

Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

We walked into IS class right after break when we discovered that there was to be a assessment. We were all taken by suprise as we weren't informed of the test. Still, being the carefree students we are we sat down anyway. That was when the Know-it-all of our class exclaimed:

This is the 1st time I don't know any of answers...

Okay... Since the Genius couldn't answer as none of us had studied for this test, we made an argumentum ad ignorantiam (^.^)

We couldn't stop laughing our heads off... Usually Nick would be complaining how he ALMOST got 100 in his last test, and how he ALMOST beat the top of the class by 1 mark... And today for the 1st time in history, he says he doesn't know any answers, with absolute panic in his voice...

Well Nick, Sic vita est! (^.^)/

Nocturnal Musings

These are poems which I have written over the course of the past few weeks. Its been a while since I've last written a proper poem, so sorry if these suck (>.<)

The poem below I dedicate to a close friend, WJ, since her fate is twined with this poem and the word coy (^.^)
The Wind 「風」
A gentle breeze embraces me
Whispering softly in my ear
Of pleasant afternoons
In the park
Of lovers trysting
in the dark
She flirts
with my hair only
To slip away leaving me
To once again
Long for
Her gentle
caresses and
Her warm scent
Coyly lingering
In the air

This one here is my fav...But have no idea what to call it (T.T)
Untitled02
The birds have now flown to their nests
While foxes return to their holes
A lone man sits in his room
Contemplating tomorrow

Water Moon Mirror Flower 「水月鏡花」
The moon fades as I reach out
Rippling into shards of silver
The flower I cannot grasp
So close yet impossible
Would you fade like a mirage too?

Watering my camels by the well....

Genesis 24

11And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water.
12And he said O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham.
13Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water:
14And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master.
15And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.

Weell... This is the closest I can get to telling what's going on in my life without embarrassing myself thoroughly...(^.^)/
Slept late last night...This morning actually...Stayed up playing a Plant Tycoon 60min demo. I wonder why I even bother playing something i'd never be able to complete nor continue after an hour.... Its arare litus (-.-;) But I still did...
Woke up early to prepare...ahem...breakfast, then jogged off to college. Later today I'll be co-leading CF worship for the 1st time in my life! *Yeah!!*
Whatever the matter is, I'm dead tired... The zombie walks again!!!
Off to catch some z's (-.-)z (If its even possible in this horribly noisy lounge...)

Hormones...(>.<)

This buddy here look familiar? Well, for those who are still trying to figure out, let me enlighten you. This complex looking chemical is responsible for making us men jealous, driving them into frenzy, sends our libido soaring, and is what makes us who we are (Also responsible for many other naughty things in women, but that's besides the point).
You got it! It's Mr Testosterone!
I don't really get it... Why are we endowed with stuff in our bodies which make us go insane? It makes you do really crazy stuff like hanging around her doorstep, debating whether to ring the bell or not...Or getting really mad at Mark for talking to her...Seeing her face in the calculus test paper...Ever experienced that? Good (or no good)! You're supposed to be normal. Hehe...
The effect of having the said hormone in your body, coupled with being male and in your post-puberty pre-40s stage, you are also prone to testosterone poisoning. Here's a definition :
Testosterone poisoning: The accident statistics show that most avalanche victims are between the ages of 20 and 35 and are male. Very few females get killed in avalanches and those who do are usually following a male at the time. In a number of cases the men involved in avalanche accidents did not listen to the advice of sensible women. But a man has got to be a MAN! And no better way to prove it than in a stupendously violent death.
Ah...doomed is my gender...
I thought she said she'd call...It's 5 minutes since...Maybe I should call her...nah...She might think I'm stalking her...(>.<)..OMG! Is that Steve talking to her?!! I'll ...erm...ahem...be back folks! (^.^)/

Pets (PG18 Viewer discretion advised)

This entry is dedicated to my most adorable, most frequently misunderstood pet: Cicak

I found her scuttling across my path one Sunday afternoon outside Serdang station. Since I've have always wanted a pet, I scooped her up and took her home. Now she lives in a green cage on my shelve.
I got fed-up trying to come up with a nice name for her so I decided with Cicak.
She loves basking in the sun and eating. And mind you, feeding her is no easy feat. She doesn't eat anything larger than her head, so her diet mainly consists of mosquitoes. Since she's a hunter, her food has to be ALIVE...which makes things worse...(try catching mosquitoes without killing them...)

I managed to chance upon a cockroach just the right size for Cicak. She happily ingested it~
Watching her hunt is really awesome. Its not a thing you get to see often. Its stunning how she traiks her prey, watching in silence. Her final strike is worth the respect I have for this 2 inch lady.

Watching her hang on the wall of her cage, I do learn many lessons. One of them being 'good things come to those who wait', or in her case, 'edible things'. Cicak can stare at her prey for minutes before actually moving in for the kill, and she rarely misses.
Having her in my room solves many pest problems too. My ex-housemate used to barge into my room to use my printer, regardless of whether I cared or not. Not with Cicak residing, my ex-housemate doesn't dare come in...(^.^)
And since I feed her mosquitoes, the nightly attacks have decreased

I really don't understand why people find her disgusting...
Cicak doesn't slime up the place, she isn't dirty in any way...
She's the bestest pet I've ever had!

Rainy days and Sundays

Ah... I spent my whole day, not with, but like this lady...

Woke up at around 0730 to get ready for Church. Groggily, I stumbled into the shower. Came out a few minutes later and got dressed and that's when it started...
achoo!
achoo!
Achoo!
Achoo!!
ACHOO!!
That kinda spelt out the decision for the day: Stay in bed

Not that I didn't welcome it...
I woke up again at around 1330 and then started on an assessment due tomorrow that should have been completed yesterday...
By the time I felt hungry enough to go out for lunch, the angels decided to take a leak...

So I decided to call for delivery instead. The decision was tough...KFC or McD?

McD won this round...
But the service was as appaling as usual...
S: My address is 215D, as in D for donkey...
Operator: D for Donkey? Ok...got it.

1 hour and 30 mins later, I hear of a McD delivery guy asking around for a 215P...
I spent the rest of the afternoon alternating between napping and trying to explain the state of Australia's economy which was experiencing a growth rate of 2% and an unemployment rate of 8%
Dinner was a quickie at Kaveri, the local mamak now that Ali and Yusuf has gulung tikared.
Glad to announce that at 0230 Monday morning, I have officially completed my assessment! *Applause*
I'd better down vitamin C tablets tomorrow unless I want my nose to start jogging~
Time for my beauty sleep...

There goes my Saturday...

My day started off with an extremely pleasant dream...

Lush green pastures, the sun blazing down, and other interesting facets to a dream...ahem...
And then it all has to end...
I hate nice dreams. They're too nice to be real, and you wish they were...
Nightmares are better...At least you're glad its over and don't cross over...

Oh well, dreams aside. Since certain lecturers had neglected taking the effort to properly educate us, my class decided to look up our old lecturer, for a fee of course (T.T)

We took a train to Kepong Sentral at 0930 and spent most of our day at our dear ex-lecturer's place catching up on our lost lessons...

She's such an old dear...She gave up her weekend (for RM 120 an hour, who wouldn't? Hehe) and even bought us lunch and refreshments.
The scary part was discovering how much our lecturer has neglected or worse, only mentioned in passing...
Ms G: What have you learnt about topic X?

Class: ...

Ms G: Ok...What about topic Y?

Class: ...

N: I think he did mention something, but it was only in passing.
Then we discovered why he left out so much...
He was a major in Math...
Our field was only an advanced hobby...(-.-;)

Thank the good Lord we still had a lifeline to cling on to!

So after 4 hours of solid drilling, we actually felt smarter (^.^)/
We then took a train back to KL Sentral, dropped by McD, then went home.

Here are a few insights to my day:

Snigger...can you spot the...um...outstanding word?

Nick(Right), Kian Guan(Left), and our dear Friend (in orange)

Nick(Left) and Kian Guan(Right)

And KG had to get limping again...
S: Look! Dog!
KG: Must be a cross between a bulldog and a shihtzu...
N: Eh? Oh! Hahahaha...
S: (-.-;)Yeah, right...A bullshit...
Swt...

Almost Always Hungry

It's been years since I've been using Almost Always Hungry as my msn display name...And what do you know? Names maketh a man...

Wondering as usual what to eat for lunch, I decided to try a Gung Fu Chao, and without realising, I added a Large to my order...

15mins later the canteen lady calls out my order and what do I see?

This:

Took me another 15mins to finish~ (>.<)
This is the last time I order large without checking...
Talking about food, I thought it would be nice to upload a few of my culinary masterpieces...
Presto!

Cajun fish fillets, baked potato, tomato salsa, and pears. The cajun fillets were horrible, presonally... baked potatoes were normal, so were the pears. The salsa on the other hand...tantalising, mouthwatering, sensual.
The lime juice, olive oil and cilantro made a very uplifting combination. This would be one of those dishes I'd make again!

This on the other hand was a definite triumph over the obstacles in the kitchen...
Poached egg on a breaded pork chop sandwich, drizzled with melted butter, and lettuce on the side.
The egg had just the right amount of albumin, the yolk was firm yet held golden promise~
If you are actually are saying 'huh...' at my poached egg, go try make one on your own and see....(^.^)

My Virgin Blog Entry

Ah...
I feel... relieved.
Finally an outlet for my troubles, and a billboard for my blessings.

And somewhere to pin those really lame jokes I pick up during my daily interactions with MCKL-ians (^.^)/

NW: Have you been to the new part of Johor yet?

KG: Eh?

Me: There is one? Where?

NW: Johor Baru la...
And KG has to add on to the occasion...
KG: Yea...And I come from Newcastle!

NW: Eh?

KG: Kota Baruuu...

Can you believe this are the people I hang out with? I can't either, but I do.

And then on to our daily rants about certain "redundant educational human facilities"
That guy tells us not to read up on our lessons from Wiki...

Cos that's where he gets his info from...
And all he does is read from his plagiarised notes....

He doesn't even understand what he's reading...

G: ...then human genome...hmm...I don't know what this means, but I find it very interesting...Why don't you all go to the Internet to do some research on this and tell me?

If a lecturer can't explain what he's trying to teach us, why even bother? Just to prove my point...

S: Sir, what's DNA?

G: ...erm...(licks his lips)...(stares at the poor girl in front of him)...

M: Sir, its deoxyriboneucleic acid, sir...

G: Ah, that! Thank you! ( hurriedly changes the topic)

Can you believe some lecturers have the cheek to call him "experienced"? Apparently coherency does not increase with age...
And there are others who just make you want to laugh out loud...

It's the 1st day of class, last semester...He walks in 15mins late and starts the class by saying:
J: I'm very particular about punctuality...

...And he ends the class 20mins early because he hasn't read our files (which, incidentally, he has had since the last term break) and so doesn't know where to start.

We just don't take him too seriously nowadays...

And in closing ( I sound like a Pastor...), during Accounts today...

F: ...therefore, a private company, or otherwise known as pt. ltd. cannot (I interrupts)

I: Phua Chu Kang!

Rest of the class: swt...(-.-;)
